AHEVO G4 LED Light Bulbs (2 W 3000K)

I was in need of a replacement G4 LED bulb to replace a blown halogen one, and settled on these AHEVO G4 LED Light Bulbs. They’re 2W 3000K, and equivalent to a 15W Halogen Bulb. The ones I bought were Warm White in colour and rated at Energy Class A++.

I opted for a pack of 10 bulbs, as my light in the living room takes 20 G4 bulbs. I’m fairly certain more of the old halogen bulbs will blow soon, so I’m confident I’ll be needing more replacements! They arrived well package, and were contained in a zip lock bag. Each bulb individually secure in a cardboard cover.

Each bulb is rated A++ energy efficiency, and it’s claimed they have a 20,000 hour lifetime. I’m sorry to say that I haven’t tested that claim!

The bulbs are 10mm in diameter and 35.4mm long, which was a little longer than my existing bulbs, due to the circuitry needed in these LED ones. They fitted my lamp perfectly, but obviously you’ll need to check they fit yours too.

There are apparently 24 LEDs per bulb, although it looked like 6 to me, so I clearly don’t know how big an individual LED is! They deliver 120-140 Lumens of Warm White light, which is 3000K if you’re counting.

AHEVO

I hadn’t heard of AHEVO brand before, but the reviews on Amazon were favourable for these LED bulbs, so I thought I’d give them a try. As you can see in the photo below, they’re not the biggest bulb in the world (I don’t have a massive finger!).

It was very straightforward to change over the bulb. Switch the light off, slide out the old one, then carefully slot the AHEVO Bulb into the holes.

With the glass cover popped over the bulb the job was done.

When the bulb is on it emits a warm white glow, which is apparently 3000K. I have no idea what that means, but it was more noticeably white than the halogen bulbs I had.

Hopefully it’s visible in the photo below, that the bulb on the left is one of the new G4 LED Light Bulbs. It is a white colour compared to the halogens, which emit a yellower glow.

Summary

These AHEVO G4 LED Light Bulbs do their job well. They appear well made, were the size specified on the box and they are operating without making any noise. The bulbs are a brighter white than my other bulbs. But that’s because I bought the wrong colour, nothing to do with the bulb. They’re well packaged, so should arrive unbroken.

I don’t know if they’ll last the full 20,000 hours of use, but they do appear well made so it’s highly likely.
